Responsibilities

Own ultrasound image quality, including R&D of advanced signal processing algorithms, system performance verification, and clinical image optimization
Partner with FPGA, firmware, and application software teams to develop RF/IQ data acquisition and analysis tools
Lead new product development (NPD) for ultrasound systems, ensuring all design and verification activities meet regulatory and quality standards
Drive innovation of advanced imaging modes/features from concept through market release. Identify and lead R&D projects for the technology roadmap
Enforce rigorous design controls, including requirements management, design reviews, documentation, design history, and V&V testing
Gather and translate user feedback into product requirements, ensuring solutions address clinical and operational needs
Actively contribute to IP development by identifying novel technologies and supporting patent applications
Stay current with emerging technologies, competitive products, and industry best practices to sustain ongoing innovation

Required

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field (required)
5+ years of hands-on experience in advanced ultrasound technology development with a bachelor's degree, or
3+ years of experience with a master's degree, or
1+ year of experience with a PhD
Deep understanding of acoustic principles, wave propagation, ultrasound transducer technologies, and advanced signal processing
Expert in ultrasound system architecture, including TX/RX frontend, beamforming, backend processing, and image optimization
Proficient in designing and troubleshooting electronic circuits, embedded systems, and firmware/software for ultrasound devices
Skilled in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW, applied to algorithm development and data analysis
Demonstrated ability to integrate hardware and software, perform system calibration, and validate ultrasound system performance
Familiarity with regulatory standards for medical device development (e.g., FDA, IEC 60601-1)
Strong clinical and technical understanding of gynecological surgery or similar surgical domains
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of ultrasound products, clinical applications, and market trends
Image Quality & Algorithm Development: Own ultrasound image quality, including R&D of advanced signal processing algorithms, system performance verification, and clinical image optimization
Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with FPGA, firmware, and application software teams to develop RF/IQ data acquisition and analysis tools
Product Development Leadership: Lead new product development (NPD) for ultrasound systems, ensuring all design and verification activities meet regulatory and quality standards
Innovation & Road mapping: Drive innovation of advanced imaging modes/features from concept through market release. Identify and lead R&D projects for the technology roadmap
Design Control & Compliance: Enforce rigorous design controls, including requirements management, design reviews, documentation, design history, and V&V testing
User Needs Translation: Gather and translate user feedback into product requirements, ensuring solutions address clinical and operational needs
Intellectual Property: Actively contribute to IP development by identifying novel technologies and supporting patent applications
Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging technologies, competitive products, and industry best practices to sustain ongoing innovation
Ability to travel up to 10% as necessary

Preferred

Experience developing medical devices compliant with FDA and IEC 60601-1 standards is highly desirable
Experience with products involving Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) and ultrasound technology is desirable
