Eddy County, NM is seeking a Transfer Station Technician to monitor municipal solid waste transfer and convenience stations. The role involves assisting the Road Department with the transportation of trash and performing maintenance checks on equipment.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Monitor designated municipal solid waste transfer and convenience stations in Eddy County
Assist the Road Department with the Solid Waste Transportation of trash to Sandpoint Landfill for delivery of roll off containers
Transport the containers and schedule maintenance on equipment
Possess knowledge of sub-base compaction, base construction, and surface construction of un-surfaced
Be proficient in the use of compact equipment to reach desired compaction levels
Dig, grade and place drainage structures in right-of-way entrances or under roads to prevent or relieve flooding and washouts
Place cattle guards and footers as directed
Perform daily maintenance check lists of equipment including DOT walk-around, pre-trip and operation inspections
Work independently and may be required to work irregular hours, attend job related meetings, and perform all other related duties as required and assigned
