Responsibilities

Assist the Chief Concrete Engineer in providing and managing concrete technical support
Support with pre-bid evaluation, design constructability reviews, technical risk assessments and construction operations work planning (i.e., placing procedures, pumping, constructability reviews, mix design, value engineering, troubleshooting, proposal development, and training.)
Assist in improving concrete quality and reducing concrete quality issues through proactive engagement with Jobsite personnel
Collaborate in developing concrete related design requirements and specifications for construction
Interpret concrete materials properties and construction quality results including process control data
Serve as field engineer during construction when interest and opportunities align
Interpret/learn/apply client specific design methodologies, specifications, and standards
Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships and construction partners, including project and non-project related face-to-face meetings

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
0-2 years of relevant engineering experience
EIT licensure or eligibility within the United States
Strong all-around academic knowledge of concrete engineering
Ability to travel in North America (expected travel approximately 25%)
Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products
Basic knowledge of concrete industry standards, such as ASTM, ACI and CSA
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
May work at various different locations and conditions may vary

Preferred

Master's degree or greater in Concrete Engineering or related engineering field
GPA above 3.0
Experience with concrete mix design and testing
Experience with industry specific software analysis and design software
