Responsibilities
Act as the global SME for mechanical design and fabrication of shell-and-tube heat exchangers and pressure vessels
Lead the application of ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code (Section VIII) in all relevant designs
Create and review detailed engineering drawings and documentation
Collaborate directly with fabrication shops and operations teams to ensure manufacturability, safety, and performance
Support and mentor global design engineers on pressure vessel-related projects and standards
Ensure consistency, quality, and innovation across heat exchanger platforms worldwide
Engage with thermal teams to enhance system performance through collaborative design
Contribute to Watlow’s electrification product roadmap and decarbonization goal
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
10+ years of experience in pressure vessel and shell-and-tube heat exchanger design
Deep, working knowledge of ASME Code Section VIII and related pressure vessel standards
Ability to create and review mechanical drawings using CAD tools
Hands-on experience working with fabrication teams and operators in a manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills and a collaborative, mentoring approach
Preferred
Familiarity with thermal/dynamic heat transfer analysis is a plus
Passion for sustainable engineering and advancing clean energy technologies
