$60K/yr - $73K/yrThe American Institute for Economic Research (AIER) is seeking a Research Associate to collaborate with their Research Team on various research projects and educational programs. The role involves conducting literature reviews, data collection, and analysis, as well as mentoring students in internship and fellowship programs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with AIER's Research Team on new and ongoing research projects
Produce AIER's content and deliver educational programs
Work on literature reviews, data collection and analysis, drafting of articles and reports
Write for the AIER website, articles for academic publication, and research reports
Present findings at conferences and engage in other projects of the research team
Supervise undergraduate research projects and manage the delivery of the academic curriculum
Lecture within the academic curriculum and facilitate reading discussions and workshops
Conduct independent research and writing projects that align with AIER’s mission under the supervision of the Faculty
Qualification
Required
Minimum of Master's degree in Economics, PPE (Politics, Philosophy, and Economics) or a closely related field (preferably direct post-graduate economics training)
Intellectual curiosity, a love of economics, and a desire to continually learn
Skills and demonstrated ability to manage and engage with student participants
Skill and demonstrated ability in researching and writing for both academic and popular-press forums
Basic/intermediate skills in Excel
Basic skills in STATA, or another statistical package, or willingness to learn
High work ethic and the ability to drive forward a product and process without micro-management
Excellent digital communication skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
An understanding of the classical liberal scholarly tradition and ideas, particularly as it pertains to economic questions
Preferred
Demonstrable team management skills (strongly preferred)
