Responsibilities
The main objective of my PhD project will be to identify dysregulated immune networks triggering and sustaining inflammation in CVID patients with GI tract disorders
My work will focus on the study of human gastrointestinal biopsies
I will use a combination of single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq), high dimensional flow cytometry, and whole slide, high-resolution multiplex imagery approaches, to identify the functional alterations of immune cells within the CVID inflamed gut and/or stomach mucosa
The project will be structured around three specific aims (described in the following section “Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project”): 1) Investigating the cellular and molecular organizations of gut inflammatory lesions in CVID; 2) Addressing the role of B cells and autoantibodies in the pathogenesis of CVID gut inflammatory lesions; 3) Dissecting altered molecular trajectory of myeloid cells in CVID
