Responsibilities
Define test plans and verification strategies for subsystem and system-level checkouts, with clear pass/fail criteria
Develop and maintain test procedures (SOPs, JHAs, test plans) that ensure safe, repeatable, and compliant operations
Lead Test Readiness Reviews and other readiness gates, confirming testbeds, procedures, and risks are fully understood
Own setup, operation, and maintenance of environmental test systems (vacuum / thermal-vacuum, vibration) for integrated, high-power/high-temperature testing
Serve as test conductor and primary point of contact for environmental and integrated test campaigns at internal and external facilities
Operate systems during tests (interpret telemetry, send commands, make real-time decisions) to protect hardware and maximize test value
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for hardware, software, and test infrastructure issues, driving corrective actions
Design, build, and maintain HIL racks, software verification testbeds, and custom test fixtures / GSE, CAD, harnesses, and instrumentation selection
Oversee installation, calibration, and maintenance of lab instruments and DAQ systems, ensuring high-quality, traceable test data and documentation
Champion EHS and safe lab operations (vacuum, high voltage/current, high temperature, hazardous materials), proper waste handling with EHS
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure test coverage, resolve conflicts, and support a smooth path from development to production
Mentor team members in test methods, environmental operations, safety practices, and documentation standards

7+ years of experience in test, integration, and/or automation engineering for complex systems, with significant hands-on laboratory experience
Demonstrated experience developing, operating, and maintaining large vacuum chambers and/or thermal-vacuum facilities for integrated system testing
Experience with environmental testing such as thermal vacuum and/or random vibration, test planning and execution
Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment (e.g., power supplies, oscilloscopes, DMMs) and instrumentation in a laboratory or cleanroom environment
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and/or software verification testbeds
Proven ability to troubleshoot and maintain custom and commercial control systems, data acquisition systems, and laboratory instruments
Strong proficiency in drafting and updating SOPs, JHAs, and test procedures; demonstrated rigor in documentation and configuration control
Proficient in Python for test automation, data analysis, and/or tool development
