Responsibilities

Participating in the day-to-day operation of the MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR) Animal Facility
Help ensure proper care and humane treatment of approximately 7,000 mice during their use in our research
Rotate between cage maintenance and husbandry responsibilities, which depend on the Animal Facility volume and needs

Qualification

Animal ScienceALAT CertificationLaboratory Animal Technician IHumane TreatmentTeamwork

Required

Education: Associate's Degree in an Animal Science program preferred
License/Certifications: Active ALAT Certification preferred. If not actively ALAT certified, must obtain the AALAS Assistant Laboratory Technician (ALAT) certification within 3 years of start date
Experience: Demonstrates competency in all essential functions of a Laboratory Animal Technician I role
