South Washington County Schools is seeking a Community Engagement and Youth Development Intern to support activities at community events. The intern will work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator and the SoWashCo CARES Education Foundation to meet the needs of students, staff, and families in the district.

Responsibilities

Be an ambassador for Community Ed and a partner of SoWashCo CARES

Be a dynamic and positive role model for participants

Responsible for assisting with programming needs at events

Set up and clean up of activities

Lead large and small group activities

Communicate with students, parents, co-workers, and community partners in a positive way that is consistently welcoming and enhances effective work relationships

Assist with collections and distribution of donations to SoWashCo CARES

Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families, and staff

Attend staff trainings

Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Communication skillsOrganizational skillsExperience in camp/school settingEvent planning skillsPositive customer service attitude

Required

Must be at least 16 years of age

Strong communication and organizational skills

Experience working in a camp or school setting

Ability to be flexible with work locations

Ability to work independently

Positive customer service attitude

Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Prompt, regular and reliable attendance

Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record

Demonstrates an appreciation of diversity in all interactions and job functions

Preferred

Current student at a SoWashCo Schools high school
