Responsibilities

Installs, monitors, maintains and repairs surveillance equipment designed to safeguard and protect cyber-sensitive assets and for controlling access to such equipment
Performs recordkeeping as required by North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Protocols
Examines security and access control systems to locate, identify and repair problems
Tests backup features, programming and other electronic security measures and countermeasures to ensure proper functioning and to diagnose malfunctions
Installs security panels, alarm sensors, video mounted cameras and covert cameras
Installs, maintains or repairs security systems, alarm devices and related equipment, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans
Assists other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians, locksmith, carpenters, overseeing jobs to completion)
Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety/security concerns
Attends meetings, workshops, training, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job
Performs other duties as assigned
Attend training for the particular systems in place, receive certifications from the training for position progression

Required

Performs the installation, programming, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing of electronic security equipment
Completes work in accordance with the relevant codes and NERC regulations
Maintains technical expertise in dealing with access control systems, CCTV systems, electronic security equipment, security alarms, etc
Installs, monitors, maintains and repairs surveillance equipment designed to safeguard and protect cyber-sensitive assets and for controlling access to such equipment

Ability to select the proper type of cable and perform installation in plenum or non-plenum rated environments
Basic knowledge with local, state, and federal codes as they apply to security and life safety equipment
Intermediate knowledge of computer, networks, and information technology related systems
Possess a valid driver's license with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPSE policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations
Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed
High School Diploma or GED

Preferred

Associates degree in Computer Science, Security or other related field
