Environmental Engineer

They are seeking an entry-level Environmental Engineer to support soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects in their Novi, Michigan office, where the candidate will conduct environmental field work and assist with data analysis and report preparation.

Responsibilities

Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of subcontractors
Operations and maintenance of surface water treatment system
Produce accurate and complete documentation of operation, inspections and compliance
Field document preparation, field data collection, processing and interpretation
Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation
Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil/Geological/Chemical Engineering
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review and a substance abuse test
Due to the nature of work, US citizenship is required

Preferred

HAZWOPER 40-Hour Training and 8-Hour Refresher, if applicable
Prior experience in environmental field data collection including drilling, soil logging, well installation and soil, groundwater, vapor sample collection, and/or remediation system operations, maintenance, and monitoring
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Coursework or experience providing knowledge relevant to waste management, environmental site assessments, environmental site investigation and characterization, and environmental remediation is preferred
Knowledge of environmental sampling practices
