The State of Washington is seeking a full-time Office Assistant 3 to serve as a frontline representative at the Washington Soldiers Home. The role involves assisting the nursing department with clerical duties, managing the nursing station during meals, and various administrative tasks to support the care of residents.

Responsibilities

Assist nursing department with clerical duties
Manage nursing station during resident meals
Print MARS, TARS, and NAC Kardex
Complete IT work orders as needed
Assist nursing and NACs with PCC as needed
Update nursing shift notes and schedules for residents' baths and vital signs daily
Print and disperse medication admin audit report daily
Complete missing POC documentation audit report daily
Complete hospital transfer packets
Notify staff via email of all changes in census beds
Stock all copiers at the end of each shift
Change toners and order backups as needed
Serve at the secondary backup to staffing coordinator and nursing payroll

Qualification

Required

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Two (2) years of clerical experience
A combination of education and professional experience may be considered on a year-for-year basis. Professional experience must be relevant to the position
Experience with multiple phones, copier, and fax machines
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Must be proficient in the English language
Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check prior to beginning services and every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks
Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening in accordance with DVA policy 670.000 Tuberculosis Testing
Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the Washington Industrial Safety and Act standards
Must be able to push or pull with sufficient strength and walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner during the entire workday
Must successfully complete, within mandated timeframes, employee orientation and all other mandatory annual, in-service, and other required training
Must become familiar and comply with all DVA policies and procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements as applicable
Must sign the confidentiality statement for all employees
Positions requiring travel must have a valid unrestricted driver's license and must be insured if driving a privately owned vehicle on state business
Candidates who are offered a job with WDVA must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa now or in the future

Preferred

Prior medical records/health information experience
Medical terminology experience
HIPAA Legislation regulation knowledge
