Perform a wide variety of difficult and complex transportation engineering work
Serve as the licensed professional resident engineer on construction projects
Assign work, give instructions, and make decisions on difficult engineering and administrative problems in connection with directing work on various transportation projects

Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers
This position requires authority granted under section 5-1.01 'Authority of the Engineer' of the Standard Specifications. In order to be granted said authority, the incumbent must possess a valid Professional Engineer license
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required
The SOQ serves as documentation of each applicant's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing
Describe your experience and ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written communication
Describe your experience and ability to effectively manage time, balance multiple tasks and projects, prioritize effectively to meet strict deadlines
Describe your experience and ability to recognize potential conflicts and issues, work with diverse personalities, and resolve conflicts
Quantify years of experience and describe your experience administering highway construction contracts
Quantify years of experience and describe your experience interpreting plans and specifications, performing calculations pertaining to highway construction
Quantify years of experience and describe your experience leading a construction project team to complete projects successfully
Quantify years of experience and describe your experience developing and maintaining cooperative working relationships
Obtain or Possess a CA Professional Engineer License (If not currently licensed, state if examinations have started, or expected date to begin examinations)
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
