PPG is a leader in innovation and sustainability in coatings, seeking a Lab Technician to join their Decorative Coatings Formulation team. In this role, you will conduct experimental work, perform physical testing on coatings, and collaborate with a team to enhance product development.

Responsibilities

Conduct experimental work such as the formulation preparation, application, and testing of coatings

Complete physical testing on liquid paints and coated panels, including viscosity, rheology, adhesion, scratch resistance, hardness, gloss, color, sag, flow and leveling, and more

Build experiments with guidance from supervisor or senior members of the project team

Collect data and detailed accounts of results in electronic laboratory notebook. Interpret data and make recommendations for future work. Communicate results through written and verbal summaries

Apply technical know-how according to established procedures and precedents to recommend alternative solutions to problems to pursue project goals

Work safely with hazardous materials daily, follow rigorous safety procedures, and wear personal protective equipment including the occasional use of a respirator
