Senior Outside Sales Representative

PPG is a leading company in the industrial coatings sector, seeking a Senior Outside Sales Representative to drive business growth and strengthen customer relationships. Responsibilities

Drive new business growth by identifying, qualifying, and converting new industrial accounts while expanding share within existing customers
Develop and execute account strategies with clear goals, milestones, and performance metrics
Grow volume, revenue, and profitability across assigned territories and markets
Build strong, multi-level customer relationships and position PPG as a trusted technical and commercial partner
Utilize VOC (Voice of the Customer) insights to guide product development, application support, and innovation priorities
Align internal resources—including technical, R&D, marketing, and leadership teams—to support customer needs and strategic opportunities
Assess long- and short-term customer requirements and identify opportunities for new products, technologies, and qualification programs
Gather and analyze competitive intelligence to inform account strategy and market positioning
Develop comprehensive growth plans outlining customer trends, competitive activity, major account profiles, and five-year revenue and product roadmaps
Collaborate with the Sales Manager to create and implement pricing strategies
Evaluate resource needs and ensure support teams are positioned to meet growth targets
Lead strategic negotiations and manage the successful execution of commercial agreements
Implement sales and marketing initiatives in partnership with operations, product management, and technical teams to support customer satisfaction and product adoption
Maintain consistent communication with the Sales Manager regarding KPIs, performance, and areas requiring attention

Required

BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline; equivalent experience considered
5+ years of B2B sales experience with industrial products or similar technical markets
Strong understanding of the industrial coatings industry, technologies, and market dynamics
Proven hunter mentality with a track record of new business development
Highly self-motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented
Willingness to travel up to 75% to visit customers and attend key meetings – US (Canada/Mexico, when needed)
