FMS Systems Engineer

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior FMS Systems Engineer to support the Attack Systems Division, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), at Wright Patterson AFB, OH. Responsibilities

Possess advanced knowledge, experience, and recognized expertise to perform highly skilled Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Engineering Management Support independently, applying established engineering procedures and best practices
Translate FMS user operational requirements into clear, actionable system requirements for weapon system contractors to support system design, development, fabrication, integration, testing, and evaluation
Support technical and mission analyses of operational requirements; assist in developing system concepts; and conduct technology assessments and trade-off studies for proposed designs
Assist in drafting and maintaining program documentation, including Statements of Objectives (SOOs), Statements of Work (SOWs), program plans, schedules, and executive-level briefings
Support preparation of regulatory and statutory documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs) and Life Cycle Management Plans (LCMPs)
Review contractor deliverables, technical data, and documentation; provide detailed technical assessments and formal comments
Support test teams in developing test requirements; review and evaluate test plans, procedures, and results
Assist in the technical evaluation of contractor proposals and system modifications for cost, feasibility, compatibility, and overall system impact
Support engineering performance, effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, and technical/schedule risk analyses and trade-off studies
Assist in evaluating Integrated Master Plans (IMP), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and Systems Engineering Development Schedule (SEDS) cost estimates
Support the evaluation of system, subsystem, and component-level test plans (e.g., System Test Plans and Test & Evaluation Master Plans) and participate in test execution as required
Provide systems and subsystem integration support throughout acquisition, development, verification, and deployment of systems and equipment
Apply sound engineering and scientific principles to improve performance, sustainability, and lifecycle outcomes of current and future joint-service weapon systems
Apply knowledge of Airworthiness Certification Criteria to aircraft systems and subsystems
Support acquisition program management across the full system life cycle, including requirements definition, development, production, sustainment, and disposal
Ensure disciplined engineering practices are applied to support Occupational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) compliance across all products

Required

Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
OR bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD
Degree must be ABET accredited
