Responsibilities
Conducts the inspection of active, abandoned, or orphaned oil and gas wells during drilling, production, alteration, or plugging phases to ensure compliance with environmental and safety laws and regulations
Analyzes data collected from the inspection of active, abandoned, or orphaned oil or gas wells and determines the scope of work required for a well to remain in production or to be plugged
Investigates reports of abandoned or orphaned wells to determine ownership and status
Reads and interprets environmental laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the drilling, production, alteration, storage, and plugging of oil and gas wells. Provides technical guidance and information to industry personnel, the regulated community, government officials and the public
Composes narrative inspection reports, compliance agreements, or enforcement documents related to oil or gas activities. Prepares letters and other written correspondence to exchange information with the public, facility operators, engineers, architects, governmental officials and supervisors
Qualification
Required
Three years of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry; or An associate's degree in Petroleum Technology or closely related field, and one year of technical experience in well design, drilling, completion, production, plugging, or underground storage operations in the oil or natural gas industry
This position requires possession of a valid driver's license
You must be able to perform essential job functions
