Catering Sales Manager (FT) ("Gerente de Ventas de Catering")
Evans Hotels LLC owns the Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa, a Polynesian-themed destination located on the shores of Mission Bay. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for managing sales and coordinating catered events at the resort, ensuring the highest professional standards and promoting a sales-focused culture.

Responsibilities
Supports the department exceed booking goals with soliciting prospective customers and encourages them to book private-party functions at our property
Conducts scheduled and walk-in site tours of property
Meets with client and proactively helps them to choose specific banquet space and food and beverage for the function
Accurately prepares catering contracts with program arrangements
Organizes account files and keeps a good track on tentative and definite bookings
Conveys a favorable image of the organization by projecting a positive, professional appearance and demeanor to our guests and associates alike
Courteously welcomes and greets clients at the beginning of each function and oversees function to ensure it is being ran in a smooth and timely fashion
Introduces Banquet Manager and Banquet Captain in charge of the function to the client, in order to assure all needs and problems will be taken care of promptly
Communicates last minute event changes to kitchen and hotel staff and ensure satisfactory follow-up
Attends weekly BEO meetings, ensuring that other hotel departments understand their roles in upcoming group programs
Works directly with the Director of Catering and Conference Services in the preparation of the monthly forecast and other projects
Reports any safety hazards or injuries and makes recommendations to eliminate future liabilities
Consults with representatives of client group or organization to plan details such as number of persons expected, display space desired, and food service schedule
Arranges publicity, special functions, adjusts complaints, and performs other duties to promote goodwill
Perform other tasks, duties, including cross training, as assigned by the Director of Catering and Conference Services
Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team
Qualification
Required
Four-year bachelor's degree, two-year associates degree, trade school degree, professional certification or any equivalent
At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training
A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement
Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company's expense
Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges
Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required
Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs
Preferred
Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred
