Responsibilities

Provide legal counsel and support on corporate matters, including contracts, compliance, and intellectual property

Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to author royalties, licensing, and other business functions

Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure legal and organizational goals are met

Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to address legal concerns and provide strategic guidance

Conduct legal research and stay informed on relevant laws and regulations affecting the business

Manage and oversee intellectual property portfolios, ensuring proper protection and compliance

Assist in resolving legal disputes and provide recommendations for risk mitigation

Mentor less experienced legal staff and offer guidance on complex legal issues

Utilize strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively

Support other legal and business initiatives as needed to align with company objectives

Required

Licensed attorney with a minimum of five to eight years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a corporate in-house role

Proven ability to make independent decisions and handle complex legal matters

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to achieving goals

Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage intricate processes and procedures

Strong organizational, time management, and project management capabilities

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred

Familiarity with intellectual property management and author royalties processes is highly desirable

Management experience or aptitude for leading others is advantageous
