Responsibilities

Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick
Works from blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures
Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects
Plans, installs, repairs, alters, and/or replaces furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and finishes to include doors, flooring, ceilings, and cabinets as necessary. This also includes inspection, maintenance, repair or improvement of roofing components, windows, exterior drainage, plus exterior walkways and covers
Maintain key accountability on the BEST Key Code system plus all locks, safe and vault doors, dial and cipher locks, to include installation, combination changes, disabling or penetrating inoperative locks (such as a Mass Hamilton X-09/X-10) IAW DoD Lock

Required

Active in Scope TS/SCI security clearance
2-4 years professional experience in structural maintenance, renovation, and/or construction including doors, walls, floors, ceilings, and windows
Must be familiar with locking mechanisms and key fabrication
Knowledge of welding and sheet metal fabrication for minor maintenance and repair of flashing, ducting, fencing, turnstiles, signage, and other structural components and be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical gates
Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades
Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking

Preferred

Possesses a GSA locksmith certification
Understanding of the Air Force or Army culture, language, and expectations for mission success
