Postdoctoral position in Stem Cell and Developmental Biology
Purdue University is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Comparative Pathobiology to lead independent research projects on stem cell niche regulation and cell fate decisions. The role involves experimental design, execution, and collaboration on multidisciplinary studies integrating cell biology, molecular biology, and computational approaches.
Responsibilities
Lead independent research projects
Contribute to collaborative, multidisciplinary studies
Design, execute, and troubleshoot in vitro assays
Perform differentiation protocols and functional studies relevant to stem cell biology
Integrate experimental and computational data into biological insights
Qualification
Required
PhD in developmental biology, reproductive/stem cell biology, molecular biology, or a closely related field by the start date
strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, including routine maintenance of primary cells and/or stem cell lines
experience with experimental design, execution, and troubleshooting of in vitro assays, differentiation protocols, and functional studies relevant to stem cell biology and developmental processes
strong scientific independence
excellent written and verbal communication skills
track record of peer-reviewed publications
Preferred
experience with pluripotent stem cells, trophoblast stem cells, organoids, or advanced three-dimensional culture systems
demonstrated experience in bioinformatics and computational data analysis
familiarity with the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput datasets such as RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, spatial transcriptomics, or related genomic assays
prior experience mentoring students or contributing to grant writing
