Responsibilities
Administer, configure, and support IBM DB2 Warehouse in an AWS environment, including installation, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and performance tuning
Support the migration of the enterprise data warehouse from a vendor-hosted AWS environment to a state-hosted AWS platform, ensuring data integrity, security, and operational stability
Collaborate closely with ETL and reporting teams using IBM DataStage and Cognos to optimize data loads, queries, and analytical workloads
Implement and maintain backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
Manage database security, user access, and compliance with State and Federal requirements
Provide ongoing operational support, incident resolution, documentation, and continuous improvement of database operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator supporting IBM DB2, or 3+ years of hands-on experience with IBM DB2 Warehouse
Hands-on experience administering databases in cloud environments, preferably AWS
Strong SQL skills with proven experience in performance tuning and query optimization
Experience supporting enterprise data warehouse or analytical database platforms
Solid understanding of backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies
Experience working in regulated or public-sector environments is a plus
Preferred
Hands-on experience with IBM DB2 Warehouse on AWS
Experience with IBM DataStage for ETL workloads
Experience supporting IBM Cognos reporting environments
Knowledge of healthcare or Medicaid data, including claims, eligibility, provider, or encounter data
Familiarity with HIPAA, CMS, and State/Federal data governance and security requirements
Experience supporting large-scale batch processing and reporting workloads
AWS experience with EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and networking concepts
