Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and delivery of full-stack solutions (front-end, back-end, integrations, databases, queues, APIs)
Transform product requirements and wireframes into scalable, maintainable, and high-quality code
Define and communicate engineering strategy, architecture vision, and technical roadmap
Drive organizational maturity: introduce best practices, processes, and tools that optimize team performance and product quality
Manage budgets for technical tools, software, and infrastructure, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to maximize impact
Mentor and develop a high-performing software development team, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability
Oversee cloud infrastructure, microservices, DevOps practices, and distributed systems
Collaborate with product, data, and business teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and business goals
Lead technical vision for R&D and contribute to product strategy discussions
Encourage innovation and experimentation while ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure software delivery
Qualification
Required
5+ years in software engineering
Strong experience in full-stack development: JavaScript frameworks (React.js, jQuery), Node.js or Java, Python, ASP.NET MVC
Expertise in databases, queues, streaming, caching, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
Experience with REST APIs, microservices, DevOps, and distributed systems
Agile experience, with a focus on Lean practices and iterative delivery
Independent, principled, and able to push back when necessary—not a 'yes person.'
Decisive, strategic, and able to balance short-term requests with long-term technical vision
Collaborative partner to leadership—provides healthy tension and complements a product-focused strategy
Mentors and develops junior developers while maintaining accountability
Adaptable, nimble, and comfortable working in a small, evolving organization
Proactive, solutions-oriented, with the ability to see the bigger picture
Responsible for managing budgets for technical tools, software, and infrastructure, balancing cost efficiency with strategic investment
Preferred
Familiarity with AI/ML, NLP, or advanced analytics a plus
