Entry-Level Project Manager

Phillips Tank & Structure is a growing company that designs, engineers, constructs, and repairs above-ground steel storage tanks. The Entry-Level Project Manager will support industrial and commercial projects by coordinating schedules, tracking milestones, and resolving issues to ensure projects are delivered accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

Receive inquiries from customers about new work. Communicate with customers and internal teammates to determine the proper bidding approach. Review drawings and specifications; identify gaps or conflicts and seek clarification
Develop accurate and timely cost estimates
Develop detailed proposals for selling projects and agreements for our customers
Set up and kick-off newly sold projects and communicate the pertinent details of the project to the project team. Set up and maintain the project files in a way that fosters teamwork, uniformity, and transparency
Promote efficient and accurate schedule communication ensuring projects are well represented in any scheduling document, spreadsheet or tools
Manage the change order process
Assist with site measurements and pre-bid job walks to maintain customer and vendor relationship
Initiate accounts receivable invoices. Ensure that the invoices are accurate and timely. Assist in collections as needed
Complete job cost forecasting quarterly and review project financials. Gain and maintain a solid understanding of the financial performance of your projects. Utilize financial lessons learned from each project to benefit the Company
Participate in project close-outs and continuous-improvement discussions

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, industrial technology, construction management, business or equivalent experience
0–5 years in fabrication, manufacturing, construction or project coordination
Proficiency with Microsoft Word & Excel, internet software and email
Ability to read fabrication drawings and interpret technical specifications
Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Basic understanding of welding, machining, cutting or assembly processes
Experience in a fabrication or machine shop environment
Exposure to lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, quality control or production scheduling
Proven team player with clear and respectful communication skills
Curious and eager to learn new tools, processes and industry standards
Willingness to visit project sites, assess conditions, and interact with field teams
Comfortable with physical tasks like climbing ladders and using measuring tools
Strong problem-solving mindset with the initiative to dig into issues and propose solutions
Capable of maintaining accurate project records, reports, and drawing packages
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs at once
