Cell Line Development & Upstream Processing Scientist
Demeetra is seeking a highly motivated Cell Line Development & Upstream Processing Scientist to join our fast-paced team advancing next-generation gene editing technologies in bioproduction. The successful candidate will contribute to developing engineered CHO cell lines and optimizing upstream processes that support Demeetra’s gene editing platforms.

Responsibilities
Execute CHO cell culture processes across shake flasks, spin tubes, and deep-well plate fed-batch formats
Perform transfection, selection, clone screening, and single-cell cloning workflows
Support upstream development with high attention to process consistency and data integrity
Run titer and basic downstream quality assays to assess productivity and cell line performance
Collaborate cross-functionally to implement advanced gene editing technologies in CLD
Contribute to workflow design, documentation, and continuous process improvement
Maintain a culture of excellence, accountability, and meeting or exceeding timelines
Qualification
Required
PhD in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related field required
2–5+ years industry experience in cell line development or upstream processing (CDMO or CLD company strongly preferred)
Demonstrated proficiency in: Molecular Biology and vector design
Demonstrated proficiency in: CHO cell culture
Demonstrated proficiency in: Transfection & selection workflows
Demonstrated proficiency in: Shake flask, spin tube, and deep-well plate fed-batch processes
Demonstrated proficiency in: Single-cell cloning
Demonstrated proficiency in: Titer determination and standard downstream quality assessments
Ability to thrive in a high-expectation, fast-moving environment
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
