Responsibilities

Oversee general accounting operations including monthly close, reporting, payroll, payables/receivables, and compliance
Identify, create and maintain best accounting and reporting processes ensuring it follows GAAP guidelines
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts
Monitor and track spend across key departments to ensure accuracy and alignment with financial goals
Prepare reports and data to support fundraising activities and investor communications
Ensure ongoing compliance with accounting standards and industry-specific regulations
Serve as a key liaison for external partners including audit and tax firms

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally within life sciences or a related field
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial systems
Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and wearing multiple hats

Preferred

CPA preferred
Prior experience in early-stage or startup/growth-stage companies preferred
