Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining the comprehensive Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program

Ensuring compliance standards meet federal regulations and internal policies by overseeing transaction monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC) initiatives, and the Customer Identification Program (CIP)

Conducting thorough investigations of alerts and cases, performing Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for high and moderate-risk members

Assessing and evaluating risk associated with members and transactions

Tackling complex investigations and originating Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs)

Adapting procedures in response to evolving regulations

Acting as a vital link between the Credit Union, external audit firms, and regulatory agencies

Required

Minimum five years of related experience of financial experience: working in financial industry operations, financial crimes

Minimum three years of BSA and financial crime investigations experience

Possess BSA/AML Certification or agree to obtain this certification

High-Level knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Sanctions compliance, and industry best practices

High-Level knowledge of The Cannabis Control Act, Cannabis Regulation Act and Compassionate Use Act

High-level analytical skills to produce and follow leads, develop complete and thorough pictures of suspicious activity and identify new trends in fraudulent behavior

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to document all aspects of the BSA/AML program and related filings, e.g., memos, SAR narratives

Strong detail orientation and organizational skills

Strong, proficient, and extensive knowledge of BSA monitoring systems (Verafin, Bam+, etc.) and Cannabis seed to sale monitoring systems

Capacity to learn technical subject areas

Ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at one time

Ability to work independently with minor supervision

Strong and proficient PC skills and have extensive knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Excellent interpersonal skills required

Must be able to quickly process information to make informed decisions
