Responsibilities
Lead or contribute to controls design and implementation activities for automation systems
Design electrical schematics, panel layouts, and field device placements using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
Select components, design control networks, and create bills of materials
Program PLCs and develop HMI/SCADA interfaces
Commission and debug systems on-site and support testing and validation activities
Provide field troubleshooting and technical support during installation
Ensure project deliverables meet quality, timeline, and budget requirements
Develop and maintain standardized controls code and documentation
Collaborate with mechanical, project management, and field service teams throughout project execution
Support R&D initiatives and internal projects to enhance automation and controls capabilities
Work with key vendors to evaluate and implement emerging technologies
Identify opportunities to optimize designs while maintaining performance and reliability
Participate in internal training, team meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives
Represent the company professionally during customer meetings, site visits, and supplier interactions
Qualification
Required
1+ years of relevant experience, ideally in material handling, robotics, or industrial automation
Strong PLC and HMI/SCADA programming skills (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
Proficient in network communication architectures and industrial protocols
Experience designing control panels and selecting electrical components
Mechanically inclined and comfortable working in both design and field environments
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong communication and documentation skills
Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
Willingness to travel up to 50% as needed for commissioning and customer support
