Responsibilities
Assists in the administration of wage/salary policies and procedures
Analyzes all job descriptions and performance evaluations for policy and legislative compliance
Maintains performance evaluation system – dictionaries, templates, schedules, notifications, etc
Conducts wage and salary surveys and other studies such as hiring and merit increase average as required
Avoids legal challenges by understanding and enforcing current legislation
Participates in outside salary surveys as requested from other organizations
Prepares salary survey and market analyses
Participates in the preparation of the annual payroll budget process
Participates in on-going process improvement assessments related to pay plans, system program compatibility and trouble-shooting
Prepares thorough cost analysis for adjustments to pay grades and assists with market adjustment proposals
Uses critical thinking skills to investigate employee and/or management complaints with wages or other salary issues and determines solution options
Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and maintaining professional networks
Calculates/requests incentive pay and other special payment needs
Regularly conducts payroll audits to insure pay according to policy
Qualification
Required
B.S. degree required, preferably in business
Excellent mathematical skills required
Must have the ability to apply logic and statistics to analyze and recognize trends
Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
Physical presence onsite is essential
Ability to lift and carry objects of up to 15 lbs
Good manual and finger dexterity
Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range
Preferred
Three years professional experience in compensation/payroll field preferred
