Responsibilities
Define and promote modern data engineering architectures and patterns that enable scalability, reliability, and performance
Champion adoption of new technologies by clearly articulating both consumer and engineering value
Partner closely with engineering teams to drive execution while fostering an inclusive environment where ideas are encouraged and elevated
Serve as a technical authority within a defined domain, guiding consistent implementation and shared best practices
Influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization through clear communication and trusted technical leadership
Promote engineering excellence through reuse, shared services, and internal open-source (innersource) approaches
Mentor and develop internal engineering talent while contributing to external recruiting efforts
Act as a trusted advisor to platform and business partners, helping shape use cases and technical direction
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
7+ years of professional experience in data engineering
3+ years of experience designing or leading data architecture initiatives
2+ years of experience building and operating solutions on AWS
Preferred
Master's degree
9+ years of experience in data engineering roles
Experience with data modeling and domain-driven design concepts
Familiarity with ontology or domain standards for structured data definition
Proficiency in Python, SQL, or Scala
Experience deploying or supporting machine learning models in production
Strong background in large-scale data processing on AWS (e.g., S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, Glue, Flink)
Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Step Functions
Hands-on experience with caching technologies or in-memory data stores
