Temporary Postdoctoral Scientist - Freeman Lab

Responsibilities

Work on NIH and VA aging research projects that examine neuroinflammatory changes in the CNS with ages, between sexes, and in models of Alzheimer’s Disease pathology
Utilize transgenic mice with cell-type specific labeling and inhibition of specific signaling molecules
Conduct extensive flow cytometry analysis to characterize, track, and sort cell types and phenotypes
Integrate animal behavior, biochemical assessments, and state-of-the-art sequencing and imaging
Learn new techniques for molecular biology, neuroimmunology, proteomics, epigenetics, and bioinformatics

Required

Ph.D. in a biological science, biochemistry, molecular biology, biology, reproductive biology, physiology, chemistry, physics or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent

Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently, as well as part of a team
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate and write summaries of result
Professionalism while interacting with a diverse group of people, personalities, and cultures

Preferred

Individuals with previous experience in neuroinflammation, flow cytometry, immunology, and bioinformatics are particularly encouraged to apply
