Research Administration Associate - San Antonio, Texas
Baylor College of Medicine-CHRISTUS Children's in San Antonio is seeking a highly motivated and competent professional to serve as a Research Administration Associate. The role involves managing day-to-day research business operations and ensuring compliance with funding guidelines.

Responsibilities
Gather and create documents necessary for grant and subaward submissions, including budgets, budget justification, other support, statement of work, etc., and communicate timelines to investigator to ensure applications are submitted on time to central office for review and approval
Enter and review grant applications, certifying summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN)
Ensure compliance with all guidelines for funding purposes
Responsible for establishing and implementing quality assurance and quality control measures/oversight and ensuring adherence to College policies and regulatory standards
Ensure the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize operating and business productivity
Work with investigators to confirm sourcing of research staff to appropriate accounts monthly
Prepare financial reports to track research mission financials for monthly/quarterly/annual review upon request
Track grant expenses and ensure appropriate use of funds and generate monthly financial reports on research awards
Provide financial management and accountability for a research portfolio including Industry, State, Federal, and Private Foundation-sponsored projects
Assist department faculty with Cureus system setup
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree. Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement
Two years of relevant experience
Preferred
Experience in research administration or sponsored projects
Bachelor's degree in a field of business administration, finance or healthcare administration
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Experience in academic medicine, healthcare and/or hospital setting
Strong operational skills and ability to gain the confidence of faculty, staff, leaders, colleagues, etc
Demonstrates a professional, positive attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines
Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, efficient, and strong organizational skills
Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in accepting work assignments with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, understand processes, and resolve issues
