Responsibilities
As a Mechanic Supervisor A, you will be instrumental in repairing and performing preventative maintenance of our fleet of patrol vehicles
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computer-based automotive systems
It oversees the maintenance and repair of government vehicles, including pursuit-rated and diesel-powered units
This position provides supervision, guidance, logistical support, and limited administration at the LSP Troop B garage
Other assigned duties will be to oversee the Mechanic 4 and the trustees, inspecting and ensuring proper progress of repair work of other mechanics, updating LaGov cost and time records for repair activities, and supervising equipment records and parts/supply requisitions
Qualification
Required
Four years of experience or training as a mechanic
A comprehensive understanding of mechanical, electrical, and computer-based automotive systems
Ability to oversee the maintenance and repair of government vehicles, including pursuit-rated and diesel-powered units
Experience in providing supervision, guidance, logistical support, and limited administration in a mechanic repair shop
Ability to inspect and ensure proper progress of repair work of other mechanics
Experience in updating LaGov cost and time records for repair activities
Experience in supervising equipment records and parts/supply requisitions
