Responsibilities

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Civilian Personnel Office, ensuring that Human Resource Activities complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities
Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations
Advises the Commander, key managers, and supervisors on the full range of civilian human resource Management which includes requirements, accessions, development, sustainment, and separations
Facilitates technical personnel services provided by the Air Force Personnel Center (AFPC)

Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
This position is Centrally Managed; PCS is authorized and will be paid by the career field
If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement
This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
This is a supervisory position; a one-year supervisory probationary period is required
Must be able and willing to assume a lead/supervisory position
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems
Knowledge of the full range of Federal HR affirmative employment, recruitment, and placement principles, concepts, practices, and analytical techniques, to include the provisions of a variety of public laws, Executive orders, and Federal regulations regarding recruitment and placement, and affirmative employment
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of concepts, laws, rules, and regulations governing federal appropriated fund personnel management
Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to manage a human resource office (e.g., personnel, budgeting, space management, safety, etc.)
