Facilities & Maintenance Manager
The Archdiocese of Detroit is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager for St. Thomas More Parish. This role is responsible for the overall cleanliness, safety, appearance, and operation of all parish buildings and grounds, performing custodial and maintenance tasks, coordinating preventive maintenance, and supervising the part-time Maintenance Assistant.

Responsibilities
Conduct daily campus inspections; perform light seasonal outdoor work and basic grounds care
Clean all parish spaces as needed: restrooms, kitchen, offices, classrooms/meeting rooms, social hall, and church
Remove all refuse daily and maintain sanitary conditions throughout campus
Perform basic repairs to electrical, plumbing, lighting, sprinkler, and HVAC systems
Monitor building systems, identify problems, and communicate major needs to the Parish Business Manager to coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs or services
Maintain inventories of cleaning, maintenance, and social hall supplies
Replace lighting and perform routine preventive maintenance
Set up and tear down spaces for parish events, meetings, and liturgical seasons
Share and assign duties with the part-time Maintenance Assistant; provide direction and oversight
Perform other duties as needed to support parish operations
Qualification
Required
Experience with basic building maintenance, repair, and custodial work
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean, safe environments
Good communication skills; dependable, organized, and self-directed
Ability to bend, stoop, climb, lift up to 50 lbs., and be on feet for extended periods
Comfortable using ladders or a lift up to 25 feet
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; experience supervising others preferred
Familiarity with Catholic rituals/seasons and community environments
