Responsibilities

Lead system integration of the drive control unit into e-bike platforms
Define CAN architectures connecting motor, battery (BMS), HMI, sensors, and auxiliary modules
Adapt communication flows to customer-specific CAN specifications and mobility use cases
Support integration of complementary interfaces (UART, PWM, analog, pulse-based) typical in bicycle systems
Identify integration risks related to packaging constraints, EMC exposure, and supplier variability
Configure and maintain application-specific firmware variants for different bicycle and mobility platforms
Adapt CAN message mapping, IDs, scaling, diagnostics, and timing to customer requirements
Support firmware bring-up, parameter tuning, and feature enablement for specific bike applications
Contribute application changes via Git-based repositories, following structured branching and release practices
Feed application insights back to core firmware and product teams
Support customers and partners in defining wiring and harness layouts suitable for compact bicycle and light-mobility systems
Provide interface guidelines and best practices for connectors, pinouts, grounding, shielding, and routing, with the support of our specialized electronics team
Act as the application focal point, coordinating with internal electronics experts for detailed electrical and EMC recommendations
Review and validate customer and supplier harness designs for CAN robustness in exposed, vibration-prone, and EMI-challenging environments
Identify integration risks related to harness implementation and recommend application-level mitigations, escalating complex electrical topics to the electronics team as needed
Support harness-related topics during integration, testing, and field deployment without owning harness redesign
Analyze power distribution from battery to control unit within bicycle architectures
Validate voltage stability, startup behavior, load conditions, and transient events
Identify power-related risks affecting communication reliability and rider experience
Support integration testing on benches, prototypes, and complete bicycles
Diagnose and resolve CAN communication issues involving motor, battery, or HMI interactions
Act as a technical escalation point during customer integration phases, pilot builds, and field trials
Produce application notes, e-bike CAN interface specifications, wiring guidelines, and release notes
Maintain traceability between firmware versions, CAN definitions, and customer bike configurations
Interface with customers, suppliers, and internal teams (electronics, validation, product)
Contribute to standardization of integration practices across bicycle platforms
