PERSONNEL TECHNICIAN III/HR - SES - 37021034
The State of Florida's Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a Personnel Technician III/HR to assist with personnel and payroll actions. The role involves verifying data accuracy, processing employee information, and ensuring compliance with onboarding processes and federal and state requirements.

Responsibilities
Assists with approval of the entries by managers of personnel and payroll actions in People First (PF) and verifies the accuracy
Assist with processing FTE and OPS employee data action changes in PF and/or modifies employee information in PF as needed and verifies the accuracy
Ensures the timely receipt, follow-up of missing documents, proper completion, and accurate processing of all required forms for payroll, organization management and on-boarding functions
Verifies accuracy and assists with any required corrections for all known personnel and position actions. Coordinates with managers, employees, PF, DMS and DFS Bureau of State Payrolls (BOSP) to resolve all payroll and Organizational Management issues
Responsible for receipt and processing of OPS Position Action Notice (PAN) forms to establish and/or modify OPS position information in PF
Assist with the review and coordinating the approval of the New Hiring Onboarding processes and forms for selected applicants to ensure compliance with Federal and State requirements and DEP procedures. These duties include the completion of E-Verify on all new employees
Assist with the annual update of agency positions required to file Financial Disclosure with the Commission on Ethics and provides guidance to program areas regarding disclosure requirements
Qualification
Required
Must possess experience using Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
At least 2 years of verifiable related experience in the area of Organizational Management or Payroll and Benefits with a state of Florida governmental entity or other Human Resource Office
Post-secondary degrees may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis
A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees
Position duties require a working knowledge of Department policies & procedures; the Personnel Rules of the Career Service System; Senior Management and Selected Exempt Service; Fair Labor Standards Act, Comptrollers Rule; Division of Retirement rule, Employee Group Health Insurance Benefits
Basic FLAIR System and People First operation
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to conduct research and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions and make informed recommendations for action
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to work independently
Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments to ensure proper completion of assigned work
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Ability to work on several projects concurrently
Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service
Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position
