Responsibilities
Provide professional support to the Administrative Specialist 2 (AS-2) and serve as a liaison between front-end staff and the AS-2
Assist AS-2 with the coordination and submission of personnel transactions requested to the Office of the Director of Operations, including job postings, hiring documentation, and performance programs and evaluations
Participate in a variety of projects and time-sensitive assignments, and the operation of the day-to-day administrative activities of the program office
Prepare detailed, written procedures, and train staff as changes are implemented
Make, evaluate and facilitate process improvement recommendations and track implementation
Coordinate internal control activities and conduct reviews to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative procedures and recommend revisions
Supervise administrative staff
Qualification
Required
Four years of experience performing or overseeing budget, human resources, and business services activities for an organization or program
An associate degree may substitute for two years of experience
A bachelor's degree may substitute for four years of experience
A master's degree may substitute for five years of experience
A doctorate may substitute for six years of experience

Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service as an Administrative Specialist 1
Candidates who are reachable on the New York State Education Department's Public Administration Trainee Transition (PATT) eligible list or the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) or the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) Select Titles eligible list may be considered for appointment
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-12 or above deemed eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law
Candidates may be eligible for nomination for transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to Administrative Specialist 1 if they are a current NYS employee with one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-16 or higher AND have standing on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list or the Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible list
Candidates may be eligible for nomination for transfer under Section 70.4 of the Civil Service Law to Administrative Specialist Trainee 1 if they are a current NYS employee with one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title SG-12 or higher AND have standing on the Professional Career Opportunities (PCO) eligible list or the Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT) eligible list
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in a title allocated SG-16 or higher eligible to transfer under Section 52.6 of the Civil Service Law
Candidates must possess a current 55b/c eligibility letter and the following minimum qualifications
