Responsibilities
Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of supervisors and warehouse associates to ensure high levels of performance, engagement, and productivity
Supervising a team of Shift Supervisors (2-5 front-line supervisors, depending on location) and associates in outbound or inbound operations
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
Continuously improving distribution center processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and safety while minimizing costs
Overseeing inventory control and management, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, tracking, and cycle counting
Implementing and maintaining quality control measures to meet or exceed product quality standards
Ensuring the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of the shift
Setting and monitoring KPIs, tracking performance metrics, and implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve operational goals
Engaging in strategic planning and forecasting, appraising performance, resolving problems, and addressing staffing needs
Developing and managing the distribution center budget, controlling expenses, and optimizing resource allocation
Coordinating with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolving any issues that may arise
Implementing and leveraging warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to enhance operational efficiency
Driving process improvements and keeping pace with growth while motivating others to meet challenges in a deadline-driven environment
Ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards
Assisting with other responsibilities as assigned based on business needs
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be available to work weekends regularly and support other shifts based on business needs
Must be able to work in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Proven experience (5+ years) in distribution center management or similar roles within the logistics industry
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to develop and share best practices across the shifts and network
Mentor, train and develop teammates for career progression and learning
In-depth knowledge of distribution center operations, inventory management, and logistics
Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and related software
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance in warehouse operations
Preferred
Budget management experience is a plus
