Responsibilities

Responds to patient/family requests (tells patient/family what to expect, when and why; informs patient/family when problems arise)
Monitors telemetry and immediately reports any changes in EKG rhythms to Telemetry Unit and/or ICCU Registered Nurse. Documents rhythm strips accurately
Collects physical, social and emotional data on patients; documents and communicates pertinent information to appropriate members of the health care team
Uses clinical equipment accurately and correctly when needed to perform basic patient care. Demonstrates knowledge of aseptic technique. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age specific treatment and care. Initiates appropriate intervention immediately in a crisis/emergent situation
Performs basic computer functions including but not limited to entering patient information and providers orders timely and accurately. Demonstrates computer literacy through accurate scheduling of tests, consults and treatments. Accurately completes all forms and records for patient care procedures
Maintains a tracking system of each patient receiving and disseminating all incoming and outgoing communications for the department
Maintains an appropriate inventory of supplies. Submits appropriate work orders, orders supplies, internal and external special orders. Stock rooms, specialty carts, code carts, IV trays and cabinets
Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with Saratoga Hospital values
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support health, healing, and service excellence
Perform clinical responsibilities with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
Use hospital systems and tools to document care and support operations
Continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and support patient and staff satisfaction
Serve as a positive, professional representative of our hospital and community

Required

High school graduate/GED
At least one year of clinical hands on experience preferred
EKG course with demonstrated competency required once hired
Must obtain BLS certification within one year of the date of hire
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to providing patient-first, high-quality service
Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
