Responsibilities

Greets visitors positively and professionally and maintains visitor registration logs

Directs patients and visitors to appropriate parties and answers basic questions

Answers telephone and correctly routes calls via phone or paging system

Performs general clerical and data entry duties

Ensures reception area is maintained and clean and provides a calm environment for visitors

Communicates with appropriate staff during emergency situations and drills

Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Prevention standards

Maintains regular attendance in keeping with assigned work schedule

Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of the organization

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must maintain acceptable driving record, current driver's license, and insurability

Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills

Demonstrates critical thinking skills

Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Ability to maintain quality and safety standards

Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality

A significant amount of sitting for prolonged periods of time

Lifting/exerting of up to 25 lbs

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate equipment and computer keyboard

Close vision and the ability to adjust focus

Ability to hear overhead pages

One year of receptionist experience in healthcare setting preferred
