Responsibilities
Work closely with business units to understand operations, goals, and process dependencies, translating needs into clear technical and functional requirements
Identify, document, and communicate complex requirements across systems and business domains using standardized documentation formats
Participate in QA and testing activities by defining test cases and validating solutions against user requirements
Create and maintain business process maps, workflows, use cases, functional specifications, wireframes, mock-ups, and process flow diagrams
Identify opportunities for process improvement, redesign, and automation enhancements
Develop and maintain Agile product backlog items, including user stories, acceptance criteria, assumptions, and non-functional requirements
Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and refinement sessions with development teams and business stakeholders
Support development teams by clarifying requirements and features to prevent delays during the development lifecycle
Understand system integrations, project scope, charters, and implementation plans
Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and organizational goals
Qualification
Required
4+ years of experience as a Technical or IT Business Analyst
3+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
Experience supporting full lifecycle system design and implementation projects
Strong experience analyzing and documenting business processes and system requirements
Ability to work with complex requirements across multiple systems and domains
Experience developing and maintaining Agile product backlogs
Proficiency in backlog grooming and sprint planning
Experience gathering requirements for API rules and integrations
Ability to read and write basic SQL statements
Understanding of relational databases and database structures
Strong skills in requirements elicitation, validation, and documentation
Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
Preferred
Experience in application development within government or private-sector IT environments
Experience in the education industry
Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server / Azure DevOps
Knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies (C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, SharePoint)
Power BI experience
Scrum certification and/or IIBA certification
Working knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Services
