Human Services Program Manager I

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of all North Carolinians. They are seeking a Human Services Program Manager I to develop and implement strategic programs for residential care and integrated behavioral health services, while promoting equity and access in service delivery.

Responsibilities

Help drive statewide initiatives to improve mental health, substance use, and justice-involved services for families across North Carolina
Develop and implement strategic programs for residential care and integrated behavioral health services
Shape policy and service delivery models that promote equity, access, and innovation
Work closely with state agencies, providers, advocates, and communities to build a responsive and inclusive system of care

Behavioral health systemsLarge-scale program implementationMH/SU care modelsEffective communicationRelationship building

Required

Master's degree in the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a closely related program; or Bachelor's degree in the area of assignment field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in a closely related program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Considerable experience with leading large-scale implementation of behavioral health services and policies
Considerable knowledge of MH/ SU care models
Working knowledge of behavioral health services and systems
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other state agencies, providers of services, advocacy groups and other organizations
