Electro-Optical AI&T Manager (Level V)

Responsibilities
Direct Assembly, Integration & Test (AI&T) activities
Manage the optical labs
Provide program level support for optical AI&T initiatives
Balance hands on AI&T oversight
Laboratory operations
Cross functional program coordination
Deliver cutting edge optical capabilities for aerospace and defense customers
Build and maintain relationships
Collaborate with others
Manage interpersonal dynamics
Qualification
Required
Ability to lead cross functional teams, manage multi million dollar budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
At least 3 years leading Assembly, Integration & Test teams in aerospace/defense or high tech R&D
Bachelor's degree in Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
Strategic Vision & Execution
Optical AI&T Expertise (Assembly, Integration, Test)
Good technical writing skills
Team Development & Mentorship
Systems engineering
Multi-disciplinary engineering knowledge and experience
Ability and desire to be flexible and do a lot of different types of tasks rather than a narrowly defined role
Familiarity with Automation Framework (AF)
Knowledge of passive and active remote sensing, including optical imaging systems, detectors and focal plane arrays, coherent and direct detection laser radar, radiometry, Fourier/wave optics, beam propagation, and/or atmospheric sciences, optical detection physics and methodologies, signal/image processing
Active TS/SCI w/Poly
Preferred
Advanced degree (M.S./Ph.D.) preferred
