The Quality Engineer will lead corrective action teams, develop quality standards, and improve plant quality performance through various quality improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

Lead corrective action teams and utilize quality tools, including 8D, in response to quality issues, including customer concerns

Develop, analyze and verify effectiveness of process controls by teaming with engineering to review customer specifications and drawings

Review and update Quality control plans and quality checklists

Design, document and implement methods and procedures for inspection and test

Improving plant quality performance, and customer satisfaction through process improvement techniques such as SPC, FMEA, DOE, Lean manufacturing etc

Develop and maintain quality standards for processing materials into partially finished or finished products

Support nonconformance documentation and MRB disposition process, including analysis of customer complaints

Interface with customers on critical issues as needed

Conduct and report on internal audits Participate in engineering CCB's and assist in the development and refinement of PFMEAs

Provide training and mentoring to team members in the development of quality improvement skills and the application of various quality tools

Performs other duties as assigned

Required

BS degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or similar field

Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality engineering or related area in a manufacturing environment

Experience with reading and interpreting GD&T requirements required

Detailed knowledge and hands on experience with quality tools including process flowcharts, FMEA's, control plans, CAPА, RCCA and 8D required

Experience working in an ISO 9001 certified environment required

Experience using Microsoft Office product suite required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

This is an ITAR facility and applicant must be a US Citizen or a lawful permanent resident

Preferred

Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies including statistical analysis techniques (Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control (SPC), etc) preferred

Experience with machining and system integration/assembly preferred

Experience with CMMs and laser inspection systems preferred

Certified Green or Black belt a plus

Internal audit experience a plus
