The State of North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Human Services Program Manager I to improve mental health and substance use services for families. This role involves developing strategic programs, shaping policy, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery and promote equity in care.

Responsibilities

Help drive statewide initiatives to improve mental health, substance use, and justice-involved services for families across North Carolina

Develop and implement strategic programs for residential care and integrated behavioral health services

Shape policy and service delivery models that promote equity, access, and innovation

Work closely with state agencies, providers, advocates, and communities to build a responsive and inclusive system of care

Required

Master's degree in the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a closely related program; or Bachelor's degree in the area of assignment field from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of experience in a closely related program; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred

Considerable experience with leading large-scale implementation of behavioral health services and policies

Considerable knowledge of MH/ SU care models

Working knowledge of behavioral health services and systems

Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other state agencies, providers of services, advocacy groups and other organizations
