Stationary Engineer Plant Manager

The Stationary Engineer Plant Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of facility plant systems, overseeing a team and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the plant operations team, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, and related equipment
Perform hands-on troubleshooting and repairs as needed to ensure issues are resolved correctly the first time
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards
Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs and emergency response procedures
Monitor energy usage and implement efficiency and cost-saving improvements
Manage plant budgets, procurement activities, and vendor relationships
Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, certifications, and operational logs
Collaborate with internal departments to support facility needs and capital improvement projects
Provide 24/7 on-call support as required to maintain uninterrupted operations

Required

High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in plant operations or facility management
CFC Universal Certification required or ability to obtain
Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured under Didlake's automobile policy
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
Strong technical knowledge with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and implement effective solutions
Proven leadership skills with the ability to supervise, motivate, and develop staff
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proactive, service-oriented communication style
Strong customer service orientation
Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people with disabilities
Ability to manage multiple projects, shifting priorities, and a heavy workload
Sound judgment with the ability to make timely and effective decisions

Preferred

Preferred hands-on experience with Trane and Carrier chillers, gas boilers, and water boilers
Maryland Class 3 Engineer's License or equivalent preferred; must be able to obtain within an agreed-upon timeframe
AED/CPR and OSHA 10-hour certifications preferred or ability to obtain
SMA, CEM, or CPE certification preferred
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred
