Campus Administrator
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is dedicated to creating a positive impact in the lives of Texans. Responsibilities
Completes routine, ongoing monitoring of homes and grounds, addressing unusual occurrences, emergencies, and incidents immediately upon discovery. Documents and reports findings
Serves as contact person for abuse/neglect allegations, and serious incidents and responds immediately to ensure the safety and health of individuals. Serve as the liaison with the Health and Human Services Commission – Provider Investigations division
Serves as first responding professional staff on the scene of a critical incident providing direction and guidance to staff and making sound decisions to deescalate the incident
Coordinates and/or assists with unusual incidents including preliminary investigations to ensure compliance with appropriate rules and standards. Serves as a member of the Incident Management Team, providing recommendations for issue resolution
Conducts special audits and monitoring as scheduled or requested to ensure on-going service delivery and the health and safety of individuals served. Follows up with Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Impairments (ICF/IID) issues and implementation of plans of correction
Provides input into the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QAQI) to improve facility operations and services
Instructs, trains, and provides in-service to facility staff on approved policies, procedures, and guidelines
Investigates and analyzes trends and assists in resolving technical problems and recommending activities to produce improved programs and operations
Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency’s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; and
Two (2) years of experience which includes some of the following: working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), responding to emergencies and incidents, conducting audits or monitoring, investigating alleged abuse, neglect or exploitation
Experience supervising others, training others or supervising projects; and
Experience dealing with unusual incidents (such as abuse, neglect and exploitation, allegations of serious injuries or assaultive behaviors, choking incidents, fires, etc.) in an ICF-IID setting, or other residential setting is preferred
OR
High school diploma or equivalent; and
Six (6) years of experience which includes some of the following: working with people who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), responding to emergencies and incidents, conducting audits or monitoring, investigating alleged abuse, neglect or exploitation
Experience supervising others, training others or supervising projects; and
Experience dealing with unusual incidents (such as abuse, neglect and exploitation, allegations of serious injuries or assaultive behaviors, choking incidents, fires, etc.) in an ICF-IID setting or other residential setting is preferred
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aide, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct and HHS List of Excluded Individuals/ Entities (LEIE)
Males between the ages of 18 – 25 must be registered with the Selective Service
All State Supported Living Center Employees are subject to Random Drug Testing
Flexibility in work hours may be required for this position
The position may be required to work overtime and/or extended hours
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment at a state-operated facility
