The State of Missouri is seeking a Technical Data Analyst responsible for developing, maintaining, and enforcing data standards within the Department of Social Services. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain enterprise data standards, including naming conventions, data definitions, and metadata documentation

Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to ensure consistent application of data standards across systems and projects

Support the creation and maintenance of a data dictionary and metadata repository

Conduct data quality assessments and recommend improvements to enhance data integrity

Assist in the implementation of data governance policies and procedures

Provide technical support for data integration and transformation efforts, ensuring alignment with established standards

Design and develop data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights and support data-driven decision-making

Serve as a subject matter expert on data standards and best practices

Deliver training and guidance to teams on data standardization and governance tools

Required

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field

3+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, or a related technical role

Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata, and data governance principles

Experience working with enterprise-level database platforms, including but not limited to MSSQL, AIX DB2 SQL, z/OS DB2, and JCL-based environments

Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar)

Experience with data mapping and integration tools or techniques

Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills

Preferred

Experience working in a regulated or standards-driven environment (e.g., government, healthcare, finance)

Familiarity with data privacy and compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)

Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell) is a plus
