Fisheries Technician (Summer Seasonal)
The State of South Dakota is seeking a Fisheries Technician for a summer seasonal position to assist fisheries managers and biologists with management and research activities on Missouri River reservoirs. The role includes tasks such as fish spawning and stocking operations, fish population sampling, and assisting with data entry and equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities
Assist in fish spawning and stocking operations
Fish population sampling using gill nets, trap nets, seines, and electrofishing
Angler use and harvest surveys
Assist with data entry and equipment maintenance
Qualification
Required
Valid driver's license
Ability to perform strenuous physical labor
Ability to work nights and weekends
Ability to communicate effectively with the public
Preferred
Operation and maintenance of boats, motors, and trailers
Basic vehicle and equipment maintenance
Knowledge of fisheries management principles and techniques
Fish identification
Basic computer operation
